Author Topic: Garmin 705- question from an I.T. and modern tech illiterate  (Read 2594 times)

New Garmin arrived- all very nice.  Has come with a 'preprogrammed date card' titled Plug and play street maps.  I don't see a fixture in the device itself for the data card to be inserted and so the question is- how do I get the data onto the Garmin.  How feeble- you get passed 50 and all just falls apart! :-[

It takes a microSD card. If you have in your hand an SD card have a look at the wide flat edge, furthest away from the contacts, and see if there is a microSD card in there. Push it and it should pop out. Then just pop the micro card into the 705.

:hand: Be careful and don't force it as it will only fit one way!!!

Mine says it is a SanDisk adapter.

Thanks everyone- got it.  The SD card has at its centre an even smaller card which fits the GPS.  Thanks for your help.
