battery and control box
« on: 07 July, 2023, 09:17:45 pm »
Missed some of last months sunny weather when control unit fried while on a hiilly-ish ride
up Clay Bank and Newgate Bank then over the North Yorks: moors to Osmotherley
The battery is a 48v 28.8ah
Today I was going to do the route in reverse
Got up onto the moors and had to stop at Chequers
Control box was waiting for an egg to fry. turned round and headed home
could not use power as led to `orrible noises motor ? and control box
Is this because of a crap system,  or is the large amount of juice in the battery at fault ?
Or anything else that comes to mind
Sods Law, ordered a new control Box last night so I would have a spare. Paid for in USA, despatched from China. Due by 25th of this month
Wondering if a 18 - 20ah battery may be more suitable
Tanks in advance for any help
