I guess the pilot is Assasin (Mark Brooking).
Not sure about the stoker.
Did a bit of sniffing round Willesden's website getting the following:

Yes, that's a cracker.

(Red Bull coverage that "gets" the 24?!? What next, Rapha entering a team?!? :P )

Oh and this is in completely the wrong thread/board. Standards still slipping round here, where will it end ...

And which would be the right board?

Racing?
Tandems?
The Gallery?
The Pub?

IMO Freewheeling is fine...

There are several threads about this year's 24H. At least one of them mentions those riders.
I dont think any are in Freewheeling.

(and I doubt that they ARE freewheeling ;) )

But it really doesnt matter! :)

I just expected better from the Honorable Member ...

But the thread wasn't about the 24, it was about identifying a pair of tandemists.

[oh bugger, I'm arguing with MattC!]

And the same pilot in 1995. I think the stoker may have been Richard Hull?

Ever Ready Night Riders

Riding the lanes from Loudeac to Carhaix in the pitch black with an Ever Ready Night rider certainly sorted out the men from the boys.

They are BS compliant, unlike many others.
Audaxing on unlit lanes with them was challenging but I am unsure it made a man of me.
I left that to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (who gave me a letter starting 'Dear Sir' when I passed my Fellowship exam).

The French custom at the time (or earlier) was a big torch (with 4 D cells in line astern) strapped to a front carrier.

I have one of those GBFO Maglite torches somewhere, beloved by generations of USAnian rozzers as a tool for beating suspects about the kidneys.  Perhaps I should experiment with strapping it to the underside of Depravo's tri-bars ;D

Or in the case of one (sadly now late) British imitator, lashed to the forks and pointing skywards.
