New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.

Knowing nothing of the groups, I have a nasty suspicion that today's match might be the highlight of the Welsh campaign.

He asked who was going to win not who has choked for the last 5 rugby world cups.

NZ, best team between World Cups.

I always enjoy watching that well-known New Zealander Martin Johnson at a loss for the reason that his team came second.

On the other hand - terrible result in the warm up game today  :-[

But very well done to Wales on an outstanding defensive display and making the most of their limited chances.  Very frustrating that Banahan couldn't score with 2 or 3 yards on the outside still available but more so that with all the English possesion that it wasn't a rout.  I've said it for a while - Tindall's time has been and gone.

Edit
- to answer the question - New Zealand.

More editing
- .... or, see below, Scotland

In my view - England would beat South Africa, its 50/50 with Australia but New Zealand would win hands down*  **

* unless Dan Carter gets crocked of course.  I'm going away on a cycling tour with his cousin in early September, let's see what Chris has to say!

** but England could quite easily lose to Scotland, so IMHO it's a Scotland/New Zealand Final with the sweaties edging it in the 19th minute of extra time

Great quote from the Scots coach Andy Robinson

That's the key element for us - we mustn't play Romania when we play Georgia, we've got to play a new side.

I think it's quite touching that other teams take to wearing black: Wales did that a few years ago. They don't seem to realise that it's not the colour of the kit which improves the standard of play.

England should have stuck to white - especially since this world cup is in NZ.

Oh and ITV's web coverage seems erratic - keeps loading ad infinitum, and it's not due to connection speed...

We knew what this ref was like. Why on earth are we giving away so many penalties.

Go Romania!

That was what the World Cup should be about, where the so-called 'other nations' inject a sense of reality. Well played, Oaks! If Scotland have the same shite pack against Georgia...

I'm surprised to see NZ playing so badly against Argentina, they look more like the ponderous England team of recent years than a tri-nations team...

It's funny that last night that Argentina were  labelled the 'surprise package' according to the commentary on ITV. WTF? Do they not remember the opening game of the World Cup 4 years ago, ahem France v Argentina? The French got slaughtered.
