Title: Copying a DVD on Mojave
Post by: SteveC on 12 December, 2018, 06:53:14 pm
From what I read on the interwebs this should be possible using Disk Utility but I can't get it to work.
Any suggestions?

I'm not trying to rip commercially available stuff, it's a home-brew DVD-R.

It's been a billion years since I burnt a disk (bloody inlaws), but I'm pretty sure you can simply select what you want to copy to the blank disk and File>burn.

In DU, copying a disk is the slightly cryptic 'restore' option. Not sure if works for writable optical media.

Not done this myself for a while either, and have never used Disk Utility for this purpose, but the go-to freeware option always used to be Handbrake. Not sure if that is still the case.

Handbrakes still good. Are you trying to copy one disk to another? If you you may be better off creating an image and then burning that.
