It was a day like any other in Ireland, only it wasn't raining

Nothing new here..... never heard the rumours about the motorcycle despatch riders with refrigerated panniers employed by Discovery?

I'm probably being really thick here.

I thought ePO worked by increasing the red blood cell count so the body accepted more oxygen.

If you do a blood transfusion so your levels stay the same and you don't show up in the doping tests, doesn't that mean you've just taken all the "goodness" out of your body and replaced it with the "duff" blood you used to have?

I'm glad I just commute, audax sometimes, and ride for fun.   This doping to race really is a confusing subject.

The level (proportion of red cells to blood volume) does stay the same after a transfusion but the total number of red cells is increased so a similar effect to EPO doping without siginificantly changing haematocrit.

I've had some blood taken this evening but I don't think the Blood Transfusion Service will let me have it back.  :D
What's this bottom line for anyway?
