It's exciting stuff, all right but I don't think this approach will be very successful against a team with more than one bowler - Australia has got dozens.

I'd like to think you are right, J, but with the current approach it's possible you just get run over quicker!

In other news, FG storming up the table!

Agreed.  Despite the fantastic achievements of the English team since Stokes took over the helm, I wouldn't be rushing out to buy a 4th day Ashes ticket.  Especially not given the result at the Gabba.

Indeed. That's why I plumped for the Saturday of the Lords test.

Interesting to see that New Zealand are taking a Baz-free approach to playing Pakistan and finding it hard to win, although they may be able to do so tomorrow.  Following the stately progress on Cricinfo has one yearning for more Bazball.

Pakistan now needing 27 21 17 of 4 or so overs with 1 wicket left. Furthest NZer from the bat is the bowler. By a large margin.

ETA 15 needed and the light's dodgy.

Declaring on day one after less than 60 overs just so you can bowl under the lights shows that pink ball day night cricket has an issue. Ok it makes sense if you are 9 down having been asked to bat but the game shouldn't be that driven by the conditions.

But then taking 3 and should have been 4 wickets would say Stokes et al made the right decision

Following England on Cricinfo is far more entertaining than following anyone else.  The matches move so much faster.

What's wrong with England.  Things keep going to plan.  However potty the plan is.

Are England going to lose after enforcing the follow-on?

I think I know the last team to do that...
