Looks a cracking route, not a bonkers price for a sportive, and looks as though it's organised by a bunch of locals. Only 90 miles, but the 50 or so miles out to St John's Chapel should make a decent warm-up, and the 50 miles back would make it a decent ride...

A full week to recover after PBP, too ;D

Dunno. They don't mention it.

Just checked and all BC registered sportives state wearing of helmets is compulsory.  This sportive is a BC registered event and as such helmet is mandatory.

Makes no difference to me as I wear a helmet, but may affect others who do not wear one.

Fair enough. They may just not have thought about it! I haven't entered anyway, and may not bother. It looks like a very good event regardless - they're my favourite roads in the country.

They may well not enforce it anyway: why would they set out to piss people off?

I'm sure they do not set out to annoy people and it is a matter of insurance that covers the event.

Ah, the old insurance canard - that always seems to get rolled out as an excuse yet a proper reference is rarely forthcoming.

Anyway, this diversion needs to go into LtL, but I don't care enough to shuffle over there.

Would love to turn up on Rufus the tandem trike. - do you think I would be accused of taking the p**s? Happy to wear a h*lm*t preferably with a pair of Viking horns  :)

Probably! The other riders might think you're some sort of cabaret the organisers have laid on. Shall I ask my sister if she fancies stoking? She's only 5'1" or 2", so she's probably a bit short.
