the 1000 from Gent might be, although previously it has been listed as Wachtebeke, which is just outside Gent, although it was early September in 2018, not late august, so ...?

Is Belgium organising the flêche this year, or the Netherlands? In case it's Belgium, where will the finish be?

Any info/background on the Gent 1000?

And are any of the listed events "all mod cons" i.e. lap of luxury rides?  :)

At the high BOB-level: none.

Marche 600: no support
Alken 600 (my organisation): optional bagdrop/ basic breakfast for those staying at the Ibis hotel in Koblenz.
Oudenaarde 600: I don't know, new organisation. The route does 2 loops, so you can sleep/resupply at the start
Ostend/Middelkerke 600: No support, 2 loops
Gent 1000: I don't know, new organisation.

The Ibis hotel in Koblenz had very basic bike parking that wasn't very secure when I stayed there early September.   When I complained they let me leave my bike in a meeting room.   You've probably got this covered, though.

Well, I'm in. Entered the Oudenaarde 600 on spec. Ferry booked and permissions granted. Looking forward to seeing the route. Might be bivvying, might be not, we'll see. A quick Google of the locale suggests the Koppenberg is nearby too.

Oud' is Tour of Flanders central  and a lovely town.
You can do an (otherwise) gentle mornings loop from there taking in all 3 famous climbs.(there are official online route guides).
Shouldn't be a problem with 600k in your legs ...

No Borders for 2024.

I don't see it on the list (unless it's the Gent one), but at least according to this site it will run in 2024 as a BRM.
https://www.audaxbelgium.com/borders-of-belgium

Was it run as a BRM before? If so I guess it's not promising that it's not on the list as the submission deadline to ACP has already passed (again, unless it's the Gent one)

Borders of Belgium is a BRM and as you can read in October 8 post by chocjohn9 earlier in this thread it will not run in 2024.

And neither Belgium nor the Netherlands will organise a fleche this season  :(

A general question about the Belgian rides: Is sign-up it really as loose as randonneurs.be seems to indicate (ie show up day of with the form fill out and entry fee and good to go)? I'm worried about getting a spot in the Ghent ride.

My only experience was entering a 600k in Ostend years ago, and that was just turn up and enter. I think entering The Borders of Belgium we did before we left home. But TBH I'm not sure. But it's a pretty free and easy culture. Great people. Great rides. Great roads.
Besides, it wouldn't be audacious if success were guaranteed.

Great roads.

Hahahhahahahahaha

OK. You bailed on the Borders quite early, IIRC?

I ride 3 or 4 Belgian events each year, sometimes I pay at the start if the weather forecast is dodgy, but most of the time I use their website mybrevet.cc which is linked to Strava (I think they run some sort of e-brevet scheme on it)

For a long event like the Gent one (1000km) you would be advised to contact the organiser - I see there are no details uploaded yet but I am sure he will be able to put your mind at rest, there is an email address.
Regards,

Alan

You can either use mybrevet.cc to sign up or simply turn up at the start. Organisers have a form that you will need to fill in and then pay in cash. 6euro for a 200.... 7euro for a 300k.... This is true on all rides, although why wouldn't you sign up in advance. This does help the organisers (me!)

Rest assured, if you appear at the start, then you can ride it.
