Co-op in Lampeter today.   Luckily they're miserable gits, and no music was playing.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

I went out on Tuesday; friend Whatsapped me the Boorish Johnson/Downing Street video and I opened it without thinking.
I'd hoped to go longer but I was philosophical enough to realise that, like Covid, I'd get it sooner or later.

Escaped from Mr Sainsbury’s House of Toothy Comestibles un-Whammed again today, though they are now selling Whamageddon-themed sweatshirts, presumably as gifts for people you really hate.

We had a pub meal with Christmas Soundtrack and a couple of trips into horriblemarkets during our weekend away, and remain unscathed.

Being deaf is really quite a boon at this time of year  ;D
For every complex problem in the world, there is a simple and easily understood solution that’s wrong.

Goddamn it!

I was on the exercise bike earlier with the telly on and I asked Alexa to turn on "Lord Fannington", as that's what I've named the smart plug.

She said something or other and the fan didn't come on so I asked again and all was well.

Until I finished the pedalling and turned the telly off. Music was faintly playing through Alexa and guess what the song was on...

Damn and blast.

Internet-of-shit-rolled?

(You have much better names for smartplugs than me.  Mine are called boring things like "PG04-2", though admittedly I'm not speaking them out loud to anything.)

I'm easily amused.

Got Pogued in this week's hydrotheraphy session, but fortunately I remain unwhammed.  One more session to go...

Barakta, of course, is immune to all this.  Indeed, she was the only one in the room who didn't startle when one of the physioterrorists caused a loud BANG! by dropping some PE equipment.

No...?

The Pogues, though, are the one of the Christmas trio of schmaltz I've so far escaped this year. I've been Whitneyed, though it was mercifully brief.

Whammed, pogued and most of the others on Thursday at the Silver Fox cafe ('tween Newnham and Broadoak). I dunno, we go out of our way to support a local cafe recently reopened and what thanks do we get?  SoreTween's audio hell. Bah bloody humbug.

The band are always good, I'm guessing this is a side project for some Ukrainian session musicians and we all know why they have that lead singer.

I do find it amusing that she reverses the normal stereotype of singing in an American accent. Her speaking English has a definite American accent but her singing English has a Ukrainian accent.

I didn't listen long enough to notice - rock before 9 am seems a bit decadent.  I could have listened to his bass finger-picking for a while, though.
