Is the intention to be outside or inside at the King Billy?

I'm happy with outside.

What on earth am I doing here on this beautiful day?! This is the only life I've got!!

Oh yes! An Initiation ... Wasn't the KB the location of 'fandango's?

Re: King Billy in Braintree parish - a weird shape as much of what feels like Braintree, is actually Bocking, and the northern chunk of Great Notley is Braintree! We've been scratching our heads and trying to make sense of Braintree since the Domesday Book.

Having been on an ACME Christmas piss up I'm sure initiation isn't needed...

I still have PTSD over my initiation at the King Billy.

Don't read this description if you've recently eaten your dinner.

OD acquired a picked egg from a jar on the bar, rolled it around inside his shorts and then presented it for my consumption. Unfortunately I'm not sure he retrieved the correct delicacy from inside his attire, because it in no way resembled an egg, it was small and brown🤮

Might be able to pop along after work
You can’t just call time out and stroll on into the beach if you don’t like the way things are goin’.

It is such a pity we didn't capture fandango's somersault whilst navigating the gutter alongside a particularly brutal section of cobbles ... after leaving a very Belgium bar in, er, Belgium? He hadn't anticipated his front wheel stopping so suddenly in a minor crater.

Thankfully he was intact after that artistic routine, but I don't think he's ever been the same since ...

Which reminds me, 'fangango has mentioned his circus skillz in the past, but we've never seen them.  Except of course his tumbling routines which, to be fair, are impressive  ;D

It's all true I'm afraid.

Regarding my Belgian forward somersault, I was riding on the pavé,  in the gutter just like wot the pro's do, but unfortunately a completely unguarded drain appeared under my front wheel. It was only my incredible presence of mind and relaxed condition that prevented injury.

So that's what 'fandango eats when he packs a lunch.  I've often wondered!

I don't know how many of the Witham peloton might be out tomorrow evening but here's a fun ROUTE to consider.
Time of Witham Peloton launch to be 7pm with individual later departures as circumstances dictate?

I've still got prep to complete for a workshop tomorrow morning, so am forced to give tonight a swerve.

Hopefully there will be discussion about a bikepacking microadventure though, we need one of those soon.

Monsoon season seems to have come early to the Eastern extremities, I'm ducking out of this one to avoid a ducking.

Have fun.

I've been watching the rain radar, looks like another bank coming through and then that's it for the night however it would mean me getting a soaking on the way to the pub... I've already got a soaking once today picking up the car...

So I'll keep my shoes dry for tomorrow for a trip to Dores instead.

Not sure if anyone has heard by Russel is closing down this weekend, last day of trading is Saturday....

Joergen
