Velofondista 200 from Slaithwaite 19/09/2021

It's nice to be able to return to organising after a couple of years of life disruption... hope I get to organise this ride for a while. The Velofondista 200 starts from Jen's bicycle maintenance shop sandwiched between the Empire Brewery and Gutsibits (a parts store for Moto Guzzi) on the edge of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal in Slaithwaite.

I wanted to showcase the sort of riding I'm experiencing here in West Yorkshire, but I also wanted to make the ride fun. And on top of that, I was determined to try and get through the heart of the UKs 'cycling capital': Manchester.

Lovely little blog posts. Sounds like a lovely route. I used to walk on those moorlands in my late childhood and of course the couple of times I walked the Pennine Way. The days of the Greater Manchester wide bus passes were fantastic as a kid.
