I have it in writing from the ACP that it's quite OK to turn up to inspection on a normal recumbent, without bash guard, flag, or mirrors. This will no doubt come as a relief to anyone who feels a bit dubious about the wisdom of buying a bike that is supposed to be streamlined and then attaching big flapping things to it ;-)
In any case, however you like to roll you should be OK PBP-wise.
