Well, after a call from the LBS it would appear I've purchased a new BB, chainset and headset.

Still need new wheels ::-)

Really good piece of kit but will not take two road bikes IME. Seems to be designed for two straight barred continental bikes. Would not be without it though due to ease of use for solo use. (There is a three bike version as well which I use to overcome these limitations)
Chris's fits 2 x road bikes, no probs. You have to shuffle them for saddle/bar height compatibility. I have more trouble with the ice-bike (flat bars) because a small compact frame is too narrow for the struts.

Shimano 105 shifters, cassette and mech for my old Racelight which I'm changing from Campag to Shimano to make it compatible with my other stuff. The Mirage groupset will appear in For Sale eventually!

Shiny precious things.

28 hole SonDelux for my lighter LEL wheels (and summer night rides)

Going to be built into a H Plus Son Archetype rim and run with Vittoria Open Pave tyres.

I built up a set of the above rims (32/28) with Hope hubs to have a lighter set of wheels for hooning round Richmond Park and summer 200s - damn they are quick.  I am currently re-evaluating my previous approach to wheels (why do I need 36/36 when I weigh 60kg?).  I will keep the heavier wheels for winter.
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

for your weight 20f/24r would be fine. and for the type of riding you mention - no lights are needed (even for summer 300's) ;). but yes - shiny!

You are probably right.  But these were the first wheels I ever built myself - so wanted to keep things sensible.

Maybe the next set will have less spokes.
Right! What's next?

Two cheap road atlases, one for the car the other for page removal and use on bike rides.

(I also got a book of  Autocar road tests of the Subaru Impreza  :-[ ).

Today's experience endorses this comment.
It will carry 1x road bike (drop bars) & 1 bike with straight bars.

A Piccolo Micro Pump; I hope to be able to mount it onto the bottle cage carrier behind the seat on the Phoenix.

I've got a pic of a pristine black one somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.  They really are quite porny before they've been built into a wheel...

A low mileage, one careful owner Athena Power-Torque tupperware chainset, to replace my utterly cream-crackered FSA ISIS set-up. Of course post-purchase blues set in almost immediately after finding out that I'll need a blinking bearing-puller of some description just to remove the NDS crank. Still, at least it was cheap.

Certainly prettier than the Race Lite Hardcase tyres I ordered this morning.  However I am pleased to report that I paid exactly the same as for the last pair back in July '11.

^^ shame that they stopped making race-x-lite hardcase - my favourite fast(ish) puncture protected tyre..

That's what decided me to move away from Campag for my road bike build.

I bought a K-Edge triple chain catcher, and a pair of single release SPD cleats.

I'll PM you some special photos later.

Bit fecked off that the rim that this will be built up with hasn't arrived as UPS can't find my house currently (despite the fact that the regular driver drops stuff off and picks up from here on a regular basis - he must be away currently).  "Does the house have a name?", "Is it a block of flats?".  Bloody hell - look on Google Streetview - might give you a big clout around the head with the cluebat.

As mentioned elsewhere, a Sturmey-Archer ASC for forty quid.

It has a hairline crack at one flange, which is why it is cheap (as well as not being advertised as an ASC, just a "3 speed fixed hub").  I know a very specialist welder. If he can't fill the crack, I'll knock out the left ballcup and press it into another shell (any shell made since about 1970 will do).

It has the toggle and indicator, most internal parts are the same as the common FW, and it can be shifted with a 4-speed shifter using positions 1, 2 and 4.  Purists grind off the "3" detent.

I'll probably fix it up, test it and sell it for real money.
