What a great film

I have enjoyed a few Johnny Cash songs over the years, but I reckon I may have to find out a bit more about his music  :P

I haven't watched it yet  - we recorded it, and I'm looking forward to it.

Does he die in the end ?

:)

Tis a good film.  I watched it thinking no one could portray Cash's particular attitude, but Phoenix did well.
Getting there...

Fairly interesting learning a bit more about his life, but as entertainment I was a bit let down. Phoenix did a brilliant job with the impersonation but I had a hard time caring. Far too many scenes of him on stage (we've all heard the music before) and didn't go deep enough into his personal life. Seemed a bit superficial.

Worth watching but not something I'm in a hurry to see again.

Didn't know the music well (not my style) but enjoyed the movie. Nice love story too.  ;)

I think it's a good film but agree with kyuss - its a bit superficial.  There is little mention of Cash's support for the rights of prisoners and no mention of his championing the rights of Native Americans or his other charitible works.

Still, Reese Witherspoon is gorgeous!

Poor movie.

Brilliant music, and a top performance by whackim, but just NOT INTERESTING.

Sometimes an interesting life doesn't translate into an interesting 2 hours on screen.
