It was in a floodlit yard on an industrial estate surrounded by tall-ish chain link fences.

I had been on the road for 30+ hours and awake for 40+ hours at that point so I wouldn't be surprised if I had imagined it.

No you weren't. It was in some sort of car park in front of a corporate HQ type building. I think.

I remember it as only being about 3 - 5m tall.
