20.8   L @ memorial          u/c            EDZELL

Start of climb of Cairn o'Mount: about 1000ft in 2 miles, initially 16%

Summit of Cairnwell; an easy climb followed by a screaming descent

269.0   L STEEP BENDS,  SHARP TURN  B951  KIRRIEMUIR
You don't want to miss this junction!

I hope to post some more pictures of the more "scenic" bits of the route in a week or two.

It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

Good work.

Are we getting a spiral bound manual with photographs of every junction to use on the day? :P You could also include some snaps of suitable bushes and trees to have a pee behind or a quick kip
It didn't look at all like that in the photographs

Eck, you never told me there would be hills involved!

You said to me that AAA  rides were for 'Almost Average Ability' cyclists and 2.25 points indicated that it was 2 and a quarter times easier than a normal ride.

Those pics are getting me excited Eck  ;D

Do you have a "proper" arrivee in Kirrie?  Every ride of more that 200km I've done before has been either a perm (as you know) or a shoestring event, so it was a cash machine receipt or a receipt from a 24hr ASDA.  If so, are there plans for space for a snooze?

Is this "proper" enough for you?

The hall will be open Saturday morning for caffeine supplements, then from Saturday afternoon onwards for food and drink. There's a shower and a snoring sleeping area (carpeted if you're back quick enough). The string quartet and serving wenches have been booked.
Would sir like to see the breakfast menu?  ;)

Sorry you can't make it, mate. Although I bet you'd not be lanterne rouge if you did ride. Hopefully there will be a next time - I'm starting to get a bit nervous about it. :-[

No need to get nervous.  As long as you've arrange for menus and waitresses at the arrivee.  I think that after the kingdom of fife some of us my have been spoilt.

I've had that in France.

I am so annoyed.  Midlands Super Grimpeur or Snow Roads.  How am I supposed to choose?  Hmm, 4.25AAA vs 2.25AAA.  :-\
