This year I'm going to try putting my toms in hanging baskets at the front of the house to save space and to, hopefully, reduce pests and disease.
Can anyone recommend a good variety to grow in this way?

Tumbler are good. Any of the trailing cherry varieties will do well. They need a lot of watering and plenty of feed.

Problem with hanging baskets is they dry out FAST! And uneven watering of tomoatoes causes them to split. I'd use some of that water retaining gel in the mix to try and keep them moist.

Yes, gel is a must. Another variety I just spotted is Hundreds and Thousands; I'm trying them this year.
