Life's so much easier when you can walk them, isn't it.

Poppy has been doing brilliantly with her lead training, usually walks with a slack lead very nicely by my side. This morning - all is forgotten. Pulling on the lead, lunging after leaves that blow past, appearing to have forgotten everything. Hopefully she'll have remembered by this afternoon. Sigh.

I reckon it's time to introduce Indi to Morphy, Del.

What, whilst Morph is still bigger, so can't be intimidated. ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

What time/s are you at the Priory Park or would you like a home visit?

How about coming round on Sunday morning and then wander down to the park? I could also show you my latest acquisition.

OK! Any particular time in mind? After 8 would be good for Indi.

This mornings walk went along the Greenway path. Met a large, with undocked tail , rottie and after a few seconds backing away he got himself nose to nose with it.

Sporting his reflective harness and lead.

Had a pleasant time with the Wow's and Morphy in the park. All very strange to Indi but he coped with it very well.

Tired now after his longest walk so far but not too far to home now.

The initial meeting between Morphy and Indi was quite amusing: Morphy did his usual trick of rushing enthusiastically to the front door to greet visitors (not a guard dog, ours) but stopped in his tracks when he realised that another of his own species was on his patch. Indi had a mild panic at seeing another dog and hid behind Del.

There were then some greetings as they said their doggy helloes and soon we were off. Indi pulled a bit, Morphy pulled a lot but Indi seemed to grow in confidence as we walked down the road. When we got to the park, we let Morphy off and he did his usual trick of a bit of a rush round. Indi wanted to join in.

After a wander round the lakes and the odd chat with a few people we knew, including one Phyllis Williams, Dez's primary school teacher in 1986, we went home for a Nice Cup of Coffee.

I managed to weigh him with little struggling.  I don't think I'll be able to do this solo much longer as it was a bit hard seeing around Indi to read the scales.
2s 9lbs or 16.8 metrical poundages.

Indi looked sleek this morning with his fur blown flat by the wind, all 18kg of him!

It seems like he is noticeably bigger every day! He is very much a GSD and is getting that shape as he grows into his fur.  ::-)
More tan is showing on his chest and lower legs but the white hairs on his chest are still there. Some white on his tail too. Odd ears as the left side has more white/tan at the front than the right.

In the park and a couple of slide shows.

I think this is my favourite so far.

He's coming right for me!  ;D

He's lovely Del. Black fluffy dogs are the best  ;) Photos almost never do them justice so I'm willing to believe he is even more gorgeous in real life.

Are you sure he's not a bear?

He's most definitely a dog! A 19.5kg dog.

If species were decided on people saying "he's like a bear" then he would be a bear.  ;D

21" to top of shoulder and today he barked for the first time. A nice deep throaty bark, not loud though. He'd seen a weird* looking cat in the garden next door. After watching it for a couple of minutes he decided it was alien and barked.

* It was a scruffy thing. The front half was ginger and black spots and the rear half was dirty white and black spots.

How old is he now? Poppy was barking from about 12 weeks and growling before then. The first time I heard her growl I thought it was a fart as it sounded so weird!

Poppy and Indi will have to meet someday Del. She attended the Kent ride today briefly.
