Open Office - Charts

It is possible to edit the data sources in an Open Office chart, or does it have to be drawn from scratch?

I can't find how to edit the data series once the chart is finished. There is a data table, that just seems to be fixed data, so something like 1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5 rather than cells A1, A2, A3, A4 which makes me think that the data behind the graph is fixed as the graph created, and from then on it's no longer tied to the original data. Is that correct?

Right click the chart, choose edit, right click again, choose data ranges..., then update the ranges in the popup.

I had tried that, but I have now found why it wasn't working.

I had moved the chart to another sheet by copying and pasting. That had removed all references to the data cells, and what had been pasted was just the numbers.

Dragging the chart to the tab of the other sheet is the way to do it. That keeps the references live.
