Title: Tandem stoker required,possibly
Post by: jogler on 25 March, 2010, 04:50:12 pm
Our tandem has been idle for a long time & Mrs. jogler's recent interest in using it occassionally has sparked my enthusiasm to use it more.
I would like to share it with someone who is visually challenged but keen to ride a bike but not exclusively so & accepts that Mrs. jogler has first call on the stoker's seat.
We live near Stoke-on-Trent.
The tandem is set up with flat bars for a stoker 5' 3" but can be adjusted.

My bro did something like this up in Liverpool - he captained a tandem for a visually impaired (and adrenaline-mad) stoker.  Dunno whether it was a national or local scheme though.

Phil?

I did some tandeming for Bradbury Fields (http://www.lvsb.org.uk/) which runs regular tandem outings from Liverpool.  They consistently had more stokers than captains available, so there will probably be someone who wants to take your offer up.  You could do a lot worse than ring round the local blind and partially sighted service providers - you may find them willing to arrange it for you.
