Right.  What I have is Jack White:

Film - No idea
Toy - Malibu Stacey.  A 'Jack White' is a drink containing Jack Daniels & Malibu.
Firearm - Blunderbuss: Solo album by JW.
Orbiter - JW has won a Satellite Award.

Still not there, sorry.

The whole key to this is, actually, the film/tv series.

Must be time for another clue.

The band that is named after a film/tv series I have seen ~20 times over the last 20 or so years.  They are a bunch of lads (well middle aged geezers, now), from Yorkshire.

Ok, so it has to be Terrorvision.

Still don't know the link :(

Correct, and perhaps time to try a different question.

It's quite a simple link, which I tell at the end.

Answer 1 is indeed, Terrorvision.
2 is Malibu Stacey.
3 is Blunderbus.
4 is Laika Dog.

The link is the members, the last 3 are all side projects of the members of the first.

A, hopefully, easier link one.

Who links P J Harvey, Nirvana, The Wedding Present and Cheap Trick?

Steve Albini?

Told you it was much easier... Correct! Steve Albini produced albums for each of those bands, plus, at his estimate 1500-2000 other bands.

We must've both watched the Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters thing - I wouldn't have got the Cheap Trick link without seeing that.

I'll try to think up a question - if anyone else has one, feel free to jump in.

Here's one thought up earlier, to restart the thread...

Which drummer turned singer and songwriter provides the link between Supertramp and folk legend Martin Carthy, and why?

As Supertramp were once described as "Genesis for Canadians" the obvious answer is Phil Collins but I suspect I am this: wrong.

I expect Robert Wyatt is too obvious as well, not that I can figure out any connection.

I wouldn't be surprised if he could be linked to Carthy but I'm not aware of a Supertramp connection

Shame it wasn't a bassist, instead of a drummer, then you could have had Roger Waters (Floyd singer-songwriter), who shares Roger with Roger Hodgson, driving force of Supertramp and Waters with Norma Waterson to whom Martin Carthy is married.

Well, that's clever, but given that Roger didn't stat the band and left about 25 years ago, you may be focussing on the wrong person

I wasn't focussing at all - just musing!  It's a fascinating question.

I didn't think either Focus or Muse ever had a singing drummer...

I didn't say he was a singing drummer. He was a drummer who went on to sing and write songs. Solo (naturally)  ;)

Ringo Starr went on to write songs.  But it's debatable whether what he does is sing.  Mind you, he wasn't really a drummer, either.  Forget I said anything.  :/

Roger Taylor (of Queen, not the other one) was a drummer, and sang, and wrote songs, and did solo albums.
