To avoid going OT on the Calendar thread, this is a picture of Whirlaw, over the roofs of Todmorden.  Up the hill & across is a fun roughstuff ride, leading to the rocks in the last pic.

OK, so the photos are a wee bit out of order, with the statue and the bike pics coming just after the waterfall, but good enough.  I think I wrote a Ride Report for this that maybe got lost in another place.  Hey ho.

EDIT:  Not sure if it's clear how steep that descent is on the oddly-paved road.

Cheeky bugger!  It was very dark in all that fog, and I didn't have a tripod.  As it happens, I was trying not to slide down a steep muddy bank as I got the shot...

EDIT:  I need hardly add that the distance shot was taken on a different day.

It may as well have been night - I set off around 0530, and the mist was thick thick thick.  Made Whirlaw all the more magical...

Still don't know what the carving's all about - maybe the Wizard?
