Brilliant - another example of poetic mis-translation.

It's not a mis-translation, the original German is "schwarzes Loch" which is the right astronomical term for a black-hole.

I don't know anywhere near enough German to know whether it's a common idiomatic phrase...

I just meant that the result was a phrase an Englishman (e.g.) would never have come out with - and it is a thing of beauty!

PJ had to choose another road, because the scottish whiskey in his baggage weighted more than 3.5 tons.

The pipers played for pingu so that he wouldn´t feel too homesick.

Seems like all cyclists enjoyed the trip under the rain.
