I've got a twin room in Burnley Premier Inn fri and sun. £36/£37 at the time I booked.

Assuming reasonable weather, I'll hope to get an hour of shut eye, or maybe two, at the control and I expect to be near the back of the field.  If I get more sleep than that I'll be pleased - the first time I got wet, off route and had no sleep at all.  Living in Cumbria, I also have secret bolt-holes dotted around the place.  I won't be far off the cut-off time after Lanwathby, but then there is a fast section after the two big passes where time can be made up.  Having a bag drop will make a difference.

Thanks, Rev...

For calibration purposes, do you have similar time data for other 600s you have done?

In my planning, my sleep-time is determined by 2 things: When I get to the sleep-stop, and how far it is to the next control.
A bag drop is very welcome if the weather is poor, and you can change into dry kit!

This is an announcement. I will be bringing gears. (Auto corrected to tears at the first attempt. This could happen too).

Will the drunk kid in Hexham have found out where the fit girls are yet?

for reference I got round the (flat) Kirtons this weekend with about 6hrs to spare including 5hrs at the night stop and an extended lunch at the pub, with pretty relaxed controls.  That was on 82" on a lighter bike.  I'll be on a heavier triple tourer for this one.

I'm planning to get to Langwathby at 4am for a couple of hours of shuteye.  I may put my head down by the side of the road for 30 minutes at midnight as that often helps.  For comparison I did the Brimstone, arriving at Priddy at 3.10am (similar distance, a little less climbing but some gloriously sketchy lanes, and more headwind than not) on the same set up as I am planning for the Pendle.  I probably took the Brimstone reasonably easy as I'd had quite a hard few weeks at work beforehand, so if things go well then I might get to Langwathby earlier, but I'm not planning on it.  Planning on an 8pm finish overall.

If you take a sleeping bag, there's an audax hotel after the pizza place control on the way up to the moors.

I did the offas dyke last year in 38 hours with 6 hours kip. I expect this will be similar. It was hard!

Hi all
Does anyone have a GPX file sorted yet? Suitable for etrex30x?

I hope not. I'd not experienced such a seething environment since the group 600 I did with Danial, Steve, Matt et al, where we ended up in a Welsh pub very late at night when they'd lost at rugby very early in the morning.

I recall being jabbed in the chest and forcefully told that I reminded a beery chap of someone from a Cream song. I could only reply "I just want to eat my chips."

Thanks Andy.
Is this definitely for the Pendle?  My inbox and even my spam folder are not showing anything.

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/22248473 I think this is about right

— adapted from an older version I found online (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/14452185), I just changed the start and end sections according to the latest route sheet

Excellent! Thanks for re-working that for the new start.
It looks good.

I've just downloaded it and loaded it up in Mapsource.
I've just been using Google Street View to identify the controls, and I've got the control waypoints all set up.
I've still got the routes to create, but that's for another day.

Whilst going around the route, I see Google Maps has got it's knickers in a twist in Ripon.
It thinks North Street is one-way southbound.
Streetview shows it's not.
Either way, I'm sure we will cope...

Oh, and it looks like we can play in a ford in Stanhope if we want...
Cameras at the ready!

I've also just booked into the Burnley Premiere Inn for the Fri and Sun nights, but a bit more expensive that simonp got. They are going for £50 now.

Now, just the small matter of riding it.
