What big or little Audax dreams does anyone have for this new season?

Being able to ride one. Seriously: I've just had a major operation.

My hope is to clear a BRM 600k prior to PBP qualification. The more realistic aim is to be able to ride and then just possibly a 200k.

A Super Randonnee 600 is a must and a UAF 600 to the Ventoux and a non-LRM 1500 in Germany are near the top of the list, probably on my Moulton. The Scottish 1000 is tempting, as is a tandem SR or close to it. Doing some brevets on an upright trike is enticing but I probably won't be able to stretch that to a SR.

Hoping to do some rides after a while away.
Vague ideas of an SR if I can find the time (like the look of the Border Raid as a 600. 400 likely to be in Wales.)
Possibly investigate running events again I may 2019 (the South East could perhaps do with more longer distance rides, possibly hosting a National).

a) Complete an audax.  No more injuries!
b) Brevet 500 would be nice.
c) Anything else is a bonus.

The goal for winter is a Brevet 250 using calendar events alone and riding an original Bickerton Portable (unless I decide it's going to kill me).

I've signed up for BCM but god knows how I'll do. I'm cautiously eyeing the ACME 1000 and I'm likely doing the This Is Not A Tour 400, so that's a lot of Welsh mountains in my future.

I'm hoping Turf n Surf 300 is on again next year because (apart from LEL) it's the one ride I've failed and not successfully redone.

If I succeed at at least some of the above (plus a 200 somewhere) that's an SR!

To attend the next Reunion without too many travel and accommodation challenges...

By the way HK/LWaB that door wedge trick is mighty useful!

Those who have had my company know I'm not exaggerating the issues...

Complete 1st RRTY, and start a 2nd one a few months early (possibly making it AAA).

Borders of Belgium.

At least 50 points.

Don't crash.

Randonneur 2,500.

Join an Audax club.

Buy a bivvy bag...and use it.

Get the missus to successfully do a 200.

The LEL route from Brampton to London done as a 600 DIY to make up for this years shortfall.

Finish as many DIY's as possible in a pub.

The 2018 dreams are quite simple:

RRTY
Baltic Randonnee 1200
Merselo-Verona

Lots of marvellous ideas.

I especially like the idea of a winter Brevet 250k as preparation for 2018 dreams of an SR Essex and Ecosse double with a distant possibility of earning an ACME Grand 8)

Any more?

<SNIP> riding an original Bickerton Portable (unless I decide it's going to kill me).
<SNIP>

That looks like a fairly early Bickerton, without any of the later stiffening braces. Hopefully you are a lightweight, 'sympathetic' rider. A number of ambitious Bickerton rides have been completed by such folk. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Daisy-Journey-Across-America-Bicycle/dp/0710007094

Get my life sorted and get back and ride an event (or 2, or 3).

My plan is to do my first Audax. Which somewhat masochistically will be in January. Last time I did a long ride in January I got frost nip.

If that works, we'll see where I end up...

After suffering with a bad lower back for the last 2 months and no riding, a return to cycling is top of my list. I will then promise to do all of the things I never did before and should have done, like stretching before and after rides etc.

I've promised a quiet Audax year at home this year so an SR and carrying on with the RRtY. The mail goal for this season is you get my now 10 year old daughter to complete a 100km which I very much neglected last year with all the LEL business going on.

A Kingston Wheelers SR Series (or Helpers Rides).
Alpi 4000 in Italy in July.
A few other audaxes, calendar permitting.

Plus, a permanent tailwind, no rain, no mechanicals, no potholes, no prangs, no sleep deprivation, no colds or flu...
Perhaps too much to ask Santa?

Do at least a couple 200s. Haven't done a single event since 2015. In fact I've done less than 500 miles total this year.

And probably not do it as an Audax but I'd like to do LEJOG next year.
Miles cycled 2014 = 3551.5 (Target 7300 :()
Miles cycled 2013 = 6141.4
Miles cycled 2012 = 4038.1

I'm entered for another BCM 600 and my name is on the list for an Italian 1400 (the Alpi4000). I may ride from the finish of that ride to Madrid for the MGM 1200.

Would the Scottish 1000 be a good warm up ride?
What on earth am I doing here on this beautiful day?! This is the only life I've got!!
