Jesus christ you're on a normal bike!

A fully restored (from an absolute wreck) 1930's tandem is not considered 'normal' by many people.  ::-)

Everything's relative.  For you that bike is normal  ;D

And of course by 'normal' what he means is very very lovely.  Isn't it OD?

Absolutely!  I love tandems and they are all just fantastic irrespective of era and type etc.

As we are taking care not to offend could I please point out that our tandem Tina is the loveliest of all (by a the width of a Marathon XR tyre).  If I didn't point this out she's be upset.  I'm sure you understand  ;D

With the headlamp bracket on the LH side I wonder where the tandem originates from.

My tandem is a Raleigh. it has been suggested that the headlamp bracket was on the left so as to light the side of the road - more useful for the rider.

I did painstakingly use a piercing saw cut a right handed one out of steel - including the Raleigh heron, but decided to keep the original fitted.

Were they actually ever produced in 'domestic' and 'export' versions?

Dunno, but they only produced them for 1 year (1937)
