They're not leggings. They're trousers.

Ah, I can get those slightly-too-tight leather jeans out of storage...
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Rowers have been wearing them for years as well

Before the advent of Ron Hills we used to get BHS wooly tights in XXXXXL sizes and cut off the feet.

Didn't do much for you sartorially but stopped your nads freezing off in winter dawn sculling trips.

I will cough to having worn 15 denier tights under my combat trousers whilst stagging on in unheated sangers at border crossing points between South West Fermanagh and County Monaghan during the winter of 1983/84. Made a difference.

I've been told that over 80% of the sales of tights at Army stores are to men.

Allegedly its 100% for the senior service... ;)

My Dad was a mounted copper and told me that most of the guys used to wear tights under their jodhpurs to reduce chafing on really long rides.

The compression stockings photo looks wrong on so many levels.

Instructions for getting into said tights:

It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight

a good alternative to expensive compressions tights for post ride recovery (currently a thread on this in Knowledge)?  Any thoughts?
