Ski cross now! It's a fight! It's Bond villain henchman tryouts! Hindmost goes in the alligator tank!
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

How long before the air ambulance is called? Not long - surely? It's Gladiators on Ice

Edit: Commentary of the day "The only way this could be more dangerous is if you gave them swords."  ;D

I love the internet:  Errol Flynn on skis - definitely not Jamaican!

Ooh, I've never seen x-skiing before, that was fun!
Thrills! Spills!

x-skiing looks just like what we used to. Glen Plake meets Konrad Bartelski

I told you it'd make Boarder X seem tame by comparison.

Watcing the men's curling. Us vs USA. I think the USAsians are too busy thinking 'let's batter the crap out of their stones!' to be placing their stones properly.

Did anyone else guffaw at Andreas Wank in the ski jumping?  I think that trumps Manuel Pfister.

1500m ladies now. The track is way too slow. Only a few riders of the first half are faster than the '88 winning time. And that was before the clapskates. The altitude difference can't compensate that.

I found the ski cross nicer to watch than the boader-x version too I have to say.

I first saw ski cross at one of the early X Games at Argentiere in the late 90s, back then they had 6 skiers start as they take up less space than boarders, who went in groups of 4. It was a way of involving the hot local youngsters and was not shown in the TV coverage, largely I suspect because it makes Boarder X seem tame. They should go back to 6 skiers to increase the jostle factor and not bother about offending the boarders.

The Ski-X was excellent - much better than the snowboard-X. And the best technical skier won IMHO.

*And yes, Andreas Wank was pronounced very, very carefully as 'Vank' every time, I noticed!

I'm just watching last night's icedancing and I am confused. They seem to have changed the scoring system - no 5.4, 4.9,5.9. And they seem to have changed the rules - back in the day, the icedancers had to be close together, couldn't be more than a certain distance apart, had to be dancing with each other, but now they're all over the place so it's more just like pairs.

I enjoyed the alpine super-combined, but I think they could improve it by running the downhill course straight onto the slalom, no pausing
