Post by: haydenw on 15 December, 2013, 08:29:12 pm
So last week i found myself at the auctions and up popped this beauty -

It's a 1960/70 Carlton (Not sure on model as the decals had come off but it looks like an old Corsa). I managed to pick it up for a bargain and wanted to breathe some life back into it. The rear derailler was knackered, brakes not working tyres knackered etc. I decided to spray it up and convert it to a fixie / single speed (Flip flop hub on order so just single speed at the minute).

Stripped down and primer applied (i was never going to win any awards for the paint finish but as it's a hack/pub bike i'm not too concerned).

Final touches were to apply clear lacquer finish, clean and fix brakes, old Triban saddle, old Triban 3 wheels (for now) and apply new bar tape.

Quite pleased with how it turned out, glad i tried to keep the original colour scheme too.
