Looking at an October tour up the Loire, on Eurovelo 6
to meet Eurovelo route 3 @ Tours whence South West on the
Pilgrims’ route direction of Poitiers , Angoulême.
Quick Google search fails to reveal anyone who wants to sell me maps of the route...
tips please!

Is is purely maps you want or would a GPX be of use whilst planning? (French tourism site Gas GPX for download) Open Street map also knows about the euro velo routes.

I have the french edition of that book (probably an older edition) somewhere!
I once looked at the route east of Orleans and came to the conclusion that there were precious few campsites advertised on it at all. Being inland campsites may well be all closed in october.
The Eurovélo route going sw from Paris has maps available online, I was looking at them the other day. I will try to find the link. Eurovélo4 ought to be on line as well. After that print or copy the sections you want (it's in sections of wimpish length)

This is only one page from the Scandibérique web pages. the home page is :https://eurovelo3.fr/la-scandiberique/ click on L'itinéraire in the bar at the top gives you the route in sections and each section has a map attached. I haven't yet looked for gps tracks, it not being my thing!

Ive managed to find cam sites for a good length of my route there and along the Loire that are open, but some mean the distance is fairly long on most days, being between 100 and 130km each day, which isn't a problem for an audax, but this isn't supposed to be one of them every day for 3 weeks! Still some more planning to do I think :)

I have just looked at this which has the potential to make a very nice circular ride; Orleans-Nantes, across the Marais Poitevin, La Rochelle-Angoulême and return north on the Scandibérique https://www.laflowvelo.com/carte
I note that a gpx trace is available!
Edit; that should be Rochefort-Angoulême. You can pass through La Rochelle on the way from Nantes!

My current plan is to go from Ouistreham down to Nantes and then along the Loire to Nevers then either work my way back up to Dieppe via one of the sides of Paris or something else... One thing that is a little fustraighting is that there isn't a coastal route from the North to start the Loire route via Saint Nazaire (Apparently with the bridge being built in 1970's there is no cycling provision over it) Seems a bit daft to get to Nantes and then cycle a 100 km round trip to the start and back! The only reason I am contemplating that is to see the Atlantic again and also satisfy my OCD and start at the start!....
Happy to hear if there is a way of resolving the Loire estuary dilemma
I note the guide book goes East to West, though I imagine there is an issue West to East other than having the sun in your eyes in the morning.. (hopefully!)
I've looked at the www.laflowvelo.com site before, it gets a bit messy to interpret when google translate messes with it :)

I will have to examine La Flow in a bit more detail. It appears to use the voies vertes between Thiviers and Angoulême which means from experience that the first section needs fat tyres because it is (or was at any rate) stabilised gravel with rain induces gullies on the slopes. On the flat stuff the surface stays reasonably intact and is good riding but around St Pardoux la Rivière there are slopes. The piste from Javerlac to Angoulême is all tarmac and with huge gaps around the barriers so you don't have to stop but there is a photo showing gravel on the site. I could see myself riding this from home some day soon.
Sorry I don't have a problem reading french so absence of good translation isn't immediately obvious to me. Re the Loire guide I don't think there is a west-east edition. You just read backwards!

After that you should be aware that between virtual and real there may be huge differences - typically between countries but also regions and even individual municipal authorities.
