Resolved! need track reducing!

I've been tinkering this route and now when I send it to my device it only uploads the first 158k  :'( tried sending to the internal storage and memory card on my eTrex 22x makes no diff

it has 49k points not sure if that's the problem? I need it tonight

Likely the number of trackpoints that's causing this - you could download the gpx track from RWGPS and upload it to Phil's GPX tool, then downsample it from there (10 metres accurancy option should be fine), then it will return a downsized file which you should be able to upload to your eTrex

Basecamp to the rescue! you can edit the number of trackpoints (in this case to 5000) using the filter ( ) tool

uploaded and working now  albeit 10k under the actual distance on the road (over 872km)

I just uploaded my 740km track from earlier this year and it came out at 27k points; this did not cause a problem so not sure what the limitation is with the device

eTrex used to have a 10000 trackpoint limitation, but I guess this may have been increased on newer models, good to hear you got it sorted
