DFDS: Hello, it looks like you're not going to use that travel credit from last year, would you like a refund instead?
Mrs P: Ooh, good idea, that will come in handy!
DFDS: OK confirmed, you may need to wait up to 45 days to see the munney
Mrs P: <grumbles,  45 days??>

47 days pass, no munney appears

Mrs P: 'ere where's that munney you offered me?

Emailed them. They now say they are taking 60 days to process refunds.
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

They're chancers.
Unless the laws have changed in the past 18 months, I don't think they're allowed to do that.

Yes. There's sub optimal levels of smoke coming from the brakes this morning and this evening.

Compressed air fittings!  Why?

USB-C has its work cut out in the things-that-should-be-compatible-but-implementations-vary-in-unpredictably-annoying-ways competition.

Sun's out, but sitting in garden office instead of sunlounger out of habit.  Doors and windows open.
Neighbours have the builders in and so nothing but chainsaw engines, thrown timber, loud radio, and chatting to drown out the birdsong.

They are of course allowed to do this, so I can't complain, but I miss the silence.

This morning Postman Pat kindly delivered a letter from local council to say that the same $NEIGHBOURS have applied for planning permission for an extension.  I have no grounds to object, nor want to since if I was in their shoes I'd want to do what I want.

I just hope it's quick and quiet.

Had my first total bonkers Freegler today. There's another one who writes gibberish messages that are barely comprehensible (they want a "harny hovaer") but I ignore that one and block (tho that seems to get unblocked on a regular basis).
Today's one (no ratings) asked about 2 items and suddenly got all arsey when they got the auto message that one of them had been taken. Then multiple messages and "I will speak to admin".

Well go on then, you fucking weirdo. You don't understand the way the messaging works, clearly and then you threaten me with the authorities.  (And also, even if you do feel aggrieved,  it's my stuff until such time as I choose to give it to somone for free so fuck off.)
Blocked and reported for harassment.
Sheesh. I've Freegled a lot of stuff with overwhelmingly positive experiences but it just takes 1 person to shit on your day..
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

I am 58 and yet I don't get any of that guff.  I count myself fortunate.  😀

Dear Coca Cola European Partners Great BRITAIN Limited

When I pluck a fresh can of your Coke ZEROTM fizzy pop product from the box of same lurking in the fridge, would it be asking too much to expect the said can actually to contain 330 ml of Coke ZEROTM fizzy pop product rather than 330 ml of nicely-chilled air?

Our idiot cantonnier - low-grade labourer who looks after verges, street furniture and the like - is just outside blasting dust out of the gutters with a leaf-blower. The noisy bastard loves the thing.  God help us once autumn sets in.

I don't need a new tool, especially one that will only ever be used once in its life and costs ~£x.  But needs must and so internet research has been undertaken with many examples and options ranging from £x to £1.5x

Since the job needs to be done today I went to local not-to-be-named shop to purchase said item.  Due to $COVID said shop cannot now be perused for wares and instead the public need to ask at the perspexed off counter for their Fork Handles.  I duly queued, asked, and assistant went to find aforesaid item.  On return I recognised aforesaid item from earlier internet research and was not happy with the £2.5x price ticket.

I politely winced and said it was a bit pricey, and assistant quietly waited to ask another if they had anything cheaper.  Reply was that they had a better quality one at £4x price but it was worth it.   I politely said sorry, but as it was considerably cheaper elsewhere it wasn't for me, thanked them politely for their time, and left.

As I walked away I clearly heard "well you were another ******* waste of time".    I so much wanted to turn around and point out that I am an almost monthly customer, with some big ticket items, for over a decade and they should be grateful that I was trying to shop locally at an independent shop, even if they are usually a bit grumpy.  If they want the custom then price match accordingly and don't insult the customers as they leave.

Next step is to bodge a home-made tool, and after that is to shop online and not go back.  Well done mate, regular customer lost.   **** you too.

Such is the cost of a distress purchase.

**** you Mr shop man!    My home made tool has worked, cost me nuffink, and I wish I'd thought of that before coming to your specialist shop.

Mr Sainsbury of the house of toothy comestibles, or more correctly those his employ, has let me down considerably. it is normal to receive a delivery from this emporia at the Beardy's Bastion antimeridan of a Tuesday, but due to the coming nuptials of Master Beardy it was necessary to be elsewhere making important garment purchase at the usual hour. Because it was discovered late that this clash would occur, the last available delivery slot yesterday was 21:00 to 22:00, which was duly booked and the evening meal was ad libbed.

There was no delivery and no communication from the shop keepers.  >:(
A call was received at 8:30 this morn from a very apologetic under keeper of the emporia with some excuse of 'mobile' failure for the delivery driver  and alate return to the depot.
A replacement delivery was booked for 16:30 to 17:00.
The delivery truck arrived at the appointed hour and the man disappeared into the bowels of his vehicle to assemble the components of our delivery.
we waited.
We waited some more
And then we did wait longer.SMALL
Fifteen minutes later, the gentleman appeared at our for with a SMALL collection of items.
No chilled items he said. They were left out* he said. He had been in contact with the under keeper who had said she would get them to use either LATE the evening or tomorrow.
We said this evening^, so he said he would convey this to the under keeper who would call and confirm.
She has since called. I let Dr Beardy (Mrs) talk to her, but it has been confirmed that they would TRY and deliver this evening. Dr Beardy (Mrs) reported that the under keeper was perplexed at the error and contrite. Not sufficient I'd wager to make a financial recompense.

Nothing for dinner AGAIN, and a real possibility of running out of cow juice for my morning cuppa if no delivery this evening.

I'm not happy.  >:(

*I assumed that they'd been left off the van, Dr Beardy (Mrs) is of the opinion that they were lift out of the fridge on the van.
^The forthcoming nuptials may require another shopping trip on the morrow**, and Dr Beardy (Mrs) does not trust me to make what she considers an appropriate choice when it comes to tie selection.
**I'm waiting on the delivery of a new tie from an online vendor, and Dr Beardy (Mrs) has decreed that if it does not arrive in the morning pos, a new one will be acquired locally.

I'm also a little stressed. :(

EuroCarParts, would it be too much to expect that if you tell me filters and oil are in stock at my local branch and let me click-and-collect them, they actually are? Without me having to stand around for 45 minutes whilst they fail to find them?

Been to Suffolk for a 4 day break with Mrs robgul - good time etc.

BUT what is it about Suffolk and a cream tea (a feature of short breaks for us .. . .  scones, jam, cream etc) . . . asked for a Cream Tea (one with Earl Grey tea) at the fairly smart country house hotel we were staying at  - two pots of tea duly arrived with a JUG OF CREAM instead of milk.   That's gotta be a first? They just didn't understand what a Cream Tea was  ???

Each afternoon for the rest of the trip we scoured cafes and tea-rooms for a Cream Tea but were disappointed at every turn.  Now, if it had been the Forest of Dean or deepest Lincolnshire I could understand  ;D

I've been promised home-made scones and jam with cream tomorrow afternoon now we're back at home.

Ahh - you were looking for the wrong things.  Creams teas are a southern affectation.  In Suffolk, the traditional dish is fish and chips.
