Death of Raymond Henry
« on: 29 June, 2020, 08:58:00 pm »
I have learnt this last week through the mailing list of the Confrérie du 650B of the death of Raymond Henry sunday 22/06.

He was probably totally unknown to many of you but he was one of the old school of french cycle-tourism, dedicated to the randonneuse and all that goes with it (650B, bikes with all the equipment etc). He was also a major historical researcher and writer on french cycle-touring from its earliest days. The world will be a lot less well informed with his passing.

That is a name I have not heard for a while. I think I (haltingly) read some articles by him last century. Very interesting subject matter and an obvious wealth of knowledge backed by good research.

https://www.renehersecycles.com/shop/print/issues/bq-65-autumn-2018/ has an article on M. Henry.
