In the interests of something or other, I'll divide the question into categories.
Plain biscuit
Chocolate biscuit
Wrapped chocolate biscuit
Savoury biscuit
To preempt any argument, Jaffa Cakes are cakes, not biscuits.
Plain biscuit - lemon puff
Chocolate biscuit - plain chocolate digestive
Wrapped chocolate biscuit - fruit Club
Savoury biscuit - Hovis
-
Plain Biscuit: Hobnobs
Chocolate Biscuit: Chocolate Hobnobs
Wrapped chocolate biscuit: Hobnob bars
Savoury Biscuit: Hobnobs with cheese
-
Plain biscuit - Hobnobs (but Rich Tea are better for dunking)
Chocolate biscuit - Chocolate digestives
Wrapped chocolate biscuit - Hard to beat a simple Club, but it's been a while...
Savoury biscuit - Krackawheat (or however it's spelled)
This is helping my diet how exactly? ;D
-
Plain biscuit - Bourbon creams
Chocolate biscuit - Plain chocolate Hob Nobs
Wrapped Chocolate biscuit - Caramel log
Savoury biscuit - Tuc savoury sandwich
-
Oh, caramel logs. They're probably joint favourite with fruit Clubs. Oh, for an hour alone in the Tunnocks factory.
-
Custard Creams
-
Plain biscuit - Hobnobs (but Rich Tea are better for dunking)
Peter Kay would beg to differ...

Bolton-Le-Moors is in the Pennines from the perspective of Farington Moss.
Damon.
-
Plain biscuit - lemon puffs are a strong contender
Chocolate biscuit - plain digestives
Wrapped chocolate biscuits - clubs, I can eat a whole packet in under 3 minutes
Savoury - Cracked black pepper oatcakes, Douchy
-
Ginger nut
Chocolate hobob
TUNNOCK'S CARAMEL WAFER! ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES!
Nairn's rough oatcake
But I'm a right biccy tart. I don't think there's one I won't enjoy.
-
Plain biscuits - the Party Ring, every time.
Chocolate biscuit - McVities caramel digestives. They make your teeth hurt just looking at them.
Wrapped chocolate biscuit - Clubs.
Savoury - Ritz biscuit, preferably with humous.
-

And just where do Garibaldis fit into your scheme ?
-
I can't find a slot for my custard creams... :-\
as for jammy dodgers... :o

I might suggest a place ;)

Maybe we could discuss this in private another time... ;)

I forgot about jammy dodgers, can I put them in my list? Much better if you pop them in whole and try not to chew.
-
Plain Biscuit: Amaretto
Chocolate Biscuit: Plain chocolate digestives
Wrapped chocolate biscuit: Kitkat, but viscount if Kitkat are disallowed
Savoury Biscuit: Oatcakes
-
And just where do Garibaldis fit into your scheme ?
Plain biscuit.
-
Plain Biscuit: NICE
Chocolate Biscuit: Plain chocolate HobNob
Wrapped chocolate biscuit: Twix
Savoury Biscuit: Those Jacob's crackers that I like. The wholemeal(ish) ones.
-
PLAIN - I don't do plain ;)
Chocolate - Chocolate fingers
Wrapped Biscuits - Twix
Savoury Biscuits - Cheddar Cheese Biscuits
-
I can't believe nobody has mentioned Chocolate Leibniz, preferably the dark variety.
But there's Tim Tams as well, which are widely accepted by theologians as proof that God loves Australians more than anyone else.
Where do Hazelnut Boasters fit into your world-scheme Kirst - are they plain biscuits which happen to have chocolate chunks and hazelnuts in them, or are they chocolate biscuits with plain bits ?
And fruity or filled biscuits ? I have a passion for Date Mamouls in Abu Dhabi, which are a little round pyramid shaped biscuit, filled with a date mixture, and the nicest ones have little bits of pistachio in the mix.
Wrapped - Kit Kat - that's a biscuit isn't it ?
Savoury - close between rough oatcakes and Jacob's wholemeal crackers.
-
Plain biscuit: Hobnobs
Chocolate biscuit: Chocolate digestive
Wrapped biscuit: Tunnock's Caramel Wafer :P :P :P
Savoury biscuit: Tuc
-

Delicious plain biscuit with chocolate bits in. Bourbons are plain biscuits too.
-
not sure if they are really my favourites but I have just filled a tin with 4 varieties of Boasters - Cranberry & Almond, Dark Chocolate & Ginger, Belgian Chocolate Chunk, Belgian Chocolate & Hazelnut.
Tin is on my desk protected by

with hand out holding a label saying "keep out".
-
Plain biscuit: Oreos, or Jammy dodgers, or party rings
Chocolate biscuit: Plain chocolate digestive or Chocolate shortbread that Cadbury now do.
Wrapped biscuit: Viscount
I'm also a big fan of making regular digestives into chocolate digestives by melting chocolate and then spreading a chunk on as thick as the biscuit itself. :D
-
I can't believe the Tunnocks caramel wafer even features here. Nasty dry little things that suck the moisture out of your tongue and then slap a sweet, sticky, immoveable turd to the roof of your mouth, which your newly-wafered parched tongue is unable to dislodge. I've actually had tongue-cramp trying to eat the damn things. One of the few biscuits I might turn down, other than out of audax-induced necessity.

Had one with morning coffee - Lovely :P
-
Hmmm, I'm swayed by the HobNob but, all things considered it must be the plain McVities Digestive.
A simple nibble renders them a perfect fit into most mugs for that perfect dunk.
-
It would be easier to list those biscuits that I do not like.It would be a very short list.
-

A list with nothing on it, I would imagine.
Plain biscuit: Ginger
Chocolate biscuit: Wagon wheel. Yeah, I know it's wrapped, but then I couldn't choose:
Wrapped biscuit: Tunnock's Caramel Wafer
Savoury biscuit: scottish oatcakes
-

Have you been comparing notes with Marj then?
-
Plain biscuit: Doves Farm organic wholewheat digestive (warning: once tried you will never go back to industrial digestives)
Chocolate: Chocolate Oliver (comfortingly expensive)
Wrapped: Natural bars (but probably not classed as a biscuit)
Savoury: Bath Oliver (plus your choice of cheese, spread, pate, whatever)
-
Plain: shortbread (not shortcake)
Chocolate: Viscount orange
Wrapped: Wagon Wheel
Savoury: Mini Cheddars
I can recommend Biscuits explained (http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/biscuits/index.php3)
-
If Bourbons are plain, I'll have to opt for them rather than Garibaldis
Chocolate Hobnobs
Tunnocks Caramel Wafers, and I'll eat yours as well Liz :P
Oatcakes, with some good cheese
-

You're weird. :D
Note to road-runner and rogerzilla - Clubs and Viscounts are wrapped biscuits. You're supposed to take the paper and foil off, you know.
-
All the best chocolate biscuits are wrapped.
If I can't have Viscounts then I'll have some of the ones from an M&S chocolate biscuit selection. Not the white chocolate ones though; white chocolate is just lard and sugar
-
They’re singular, they’re fingular,
They’re biscuits without any bends,
They’re long and little, they start at the middle
And come to a stop at the ends.
They’re long and thin
With a chocolate skin —
Like sticks in chocolate silk
But the most singular thing
In a finger is …
Cadbury’s Dairy Milk!
What makes a nice cuppa nicer?
What makes a cuppa complete?
Gray Dunn caramel wafers
Make a cuppa go down a treat!
I’m a Jamaican ginger grower and I very proudly say,
I grow the finest ginger in the world today.
I picks the best and packs it and McVities comes to buy it,
Then they bake it into gingernuts you really ought to try it.
You snap into a McVities gingernut — you tastes it too
Jamaican ginger — the world’s best — is waiting for you.
I knows it … I grows it!
I'm partial to a Goosnargh Cake myself.
Damon.

My favourite biscuit , anything half price , of which there is currently a lot in my local Sainsbury's
(http://www.yudu.com/item_files/28169/52eadfed3/regards.jpg)(http://www.yudu.com/item_files/28170/346c719a5/from.jpg)(http://www.yudu.com/item_files/28171/5eb32df38/snakehips.jpg)
-
Malted milk
-
Do you try and nibble round the cow?
Sainsbury's have changed the design of their malted milk biscuits - as well as tasting a bit nasty, the baby cow has gone >:(
-
Plain biscuit : Fruit Shrewsbury
Chocolate biscuit : Ginger Nuts
Wrapped chocolate biscuit : Fruit Shrewsbury (packet of)
Savoury biscuit : Oatcakes (with goat cheese or hummous)
-
Ginger nut
Chocolate hobob
TUNNOCK'S CARAMEL WAFER! ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES!
Nairn's rough oatcake
But I'm a right biccy tart. I don't think there's one I won't enjoy.
Have you tried the ginger crinkles from Sainsburys? I think that they have the edge over your common or garden ginger nut. Unless you are dunking, then I would go for the ginger nut, but can understand why someone may still go for the ginger crinkle as their preferred dunker.
Chocolate Hobnobs.
I don't go for wrapped biscuits. I can't be doing with faffing around. But if Kit Kats count, then it has to be a Kit Kat Chunky.
Cheddars are my preferred savory biscuit.
-
Not too fussed about biscuits but garibaldis are pretty good.
And why has no one mentioned FIG ROLLS?
-
And why has no one mentioned FIG ROLLS?
Oh yes , and fig rolls

-
Oh, I like anything biscuity. Chocolate chip shortcakes from M+S are especially fine.
-
Abernathy biscuits, not as commonly available as I would like. Maybe I'll bake some soon.
-
Plain biscuit: Doves Farm organic wholewheat digestive (warning: once tried you will never go back to industrial digestives)
Chocolate: Chocolate Oliver (comfortingly expensive)
Wrapped: Natural bars (but probably not classed as a biscuit)

Chocolate: Chocolate Olivers
Wrapped: Toffee Waffle (melted on a mug of coffee)
Savoury: Bath Olivers

It seems that Jasmine, who? must be a freshman! is the only other one with taste.
I'll second digestive but with cheese and choccy ones taken neat.
Tammies of course (up thread) are Penguins with an Oz name. I think the Penguin version are better :P

You are SO going to hell for that, where you'll be prodded with a barbecue fork and called Maaaate by all Beelzebub's demons.
They're as different as Vegemite and Marmite.
-
I can't believe nobody's mentioned www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com (http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com) yet. Very remiss of you all... ::-)
For the record, my preferences are as follows:
Plain biscuit - Garibaldis
Chocolate biscuit - Chocolate Hobnobs
Wrapped chocolate biscuit - there can be only one Tunnocks Wafer!!!
Savoury biscuit - Tuc Crackers Savoury Sandwich
Liz is wrong about the Tunnocks. But that's fine by me as there's more chocolaty, wafery goodness for me to eat.
Om nom nom :D

Fig Rolls go hard when you leave them out therefore they are cakes, not biscuits.

Plain biscuit - Lotus Lotus Caramelised Biscuits, Chocolate Espresso Beans, Biscotti Bars, Lotus Biscuits, coffee suppliers, Coffee Biscuits, Coffee Mints (http://www.garraways.co.uk/p66126/Lotus-Caramelised-Biscuits.html?kw=lotus%20biscuits&fl=52892&ci=779611220&network=s&gclid=CNnTgPTTwpgCFQrFGgodsiII0w) The definitive Belgian biscuit. :o 'nuff said.
Chocolate biscuit - Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers Extra Crunchy
Wrapped chocolate biscuit - currently mint Echo Fox's Biscuits : Echo Chocolate (http://www.foxs-biscuits.co.uk/product.php?id=echochoc)
Savoury biscuit - Tesco Finest Four Cheese Twists
-
The one that I eating atm. It's very gingery covered in thick dark chocolate
-
Wrapped: Toffee Waffle (melted on a mug of coffee)
At last, someone got the answer right!
There is no finer biscuit than the Tregroes Toffee Waffle. The plain version is sublime melted on the edge of a mug of coffee, but for panting biscuit heaven, the plain chocolate coated version has no peer. Nothing even comes close.
Wafflau Tregroes - Cynnyrch (http://www.tregroeswaffles.co.uk/Cymru/Cynnyrch.html)
Tregroes Waffles - Products (http://www.tregroeswaffles.co.uk/English/Products.html)
-
We used to buy them at the market in Machynlleth. They are scrummy.
-
Anyone tried BBQ Hobnobs & Vanilla ice cream??
-
I'm not sure if the Tregroes waffle counts as a biscuit. It's a waffle.
If it does, I'll add it to my list too. Best served warmed in the grill. They can also be put in the back pocket of a cycling jersey without turning into a crumbly/gooey mess.
-
Anybody mentioned Oaties?
half the price of Hobnobs (my previous favourit) and less fat, too.
-
And why has no one mentioned FIG ROLLS?
PFFFFFTTTT!
That's why.
-
It would be easier to list those biscuits that I do not like.It would be a very short list.
Yup. I'm in your group!
Mine?
Nice biscuits and anything with coconut in it. Which as everyone knows is dandruff collected from the inmates of Devil's Island.
-
Plain biscuit- Nairn's Oat biscuits, stem ginger particularly.
Chocolate biscuit- I haven't found a plain one without filtered cow pus milk in it, but I'm not a chocaholic anyway.
Plain ones- anything really.
-
Plain biscuit- Nairn's Oat biscuits, stem ginger particularly.
The ginger ones are very nice, good with tea or cheese. Mmmmm, cheese!
Does anyone else like Hit biscuits?
-
I like biscuits so much I simply do not buy them. Can't afford a new wardrobe .........
Like any addiction, it can be conquered.
(though I do have the occasional slip when I see a Tunnock Plain Chocolate tea cake....)
-
Everyone knows that the best biscuit is the one on the biscuit selection box that is covered in foil. That's why they cover it in foil isn't it ? Or perhaps I have fallen prey to the evil designs of biscuit packager.
-
Cadbury's chocolate rich tea biscuits.
I can do half a pack in one sitting. And then the other half for afters.
-
And just where do Garibaldis fit into your scheme ?
Plain biscuit.
Actually, on the grounds that they have raisins or currants or something in them, I'm reclassifying them as health food.
-
I think you'll find those aren't raisins but guinea pig droppings. To up the fibre content.
-
Jam Sandwich Rings. The proper ones that you can pull apart with a twist, not the bastardised so-called Happy Faces which have the internal texture of tar.
There is something supremeley satisfying about twisting the sandwich into separate halves, scraping the buttercreme off with your lower teeth, then savorungi the sweet delight of the jammy side topped with sprinkles of sugar. Mmmmmm.
Honorable mention for Tunnock's caramel wafer.
-
Seeing as I didn't read this last time (or if I did, I forgot)
Plain biscuit - butter crunch, or malted milk, depending
Chocolate biscuit - plain choc digestive
Wrapped chocolate biscuit - don't really buy them, too many layers between me and the chocolate
Savoury biscuit - used to be high bake water biscuit. Now those ones with seeds on, with oatcakes a close 2nd
