I've been asked to let Audax UK members know that Damon Peacock, known on here as "Exit Stage Left", has taken his own life following a lengthy bout of depression. I know that many members will want to express their sorrow at this sad loss of a fine man, and pass on condolences to his partner Heather. Both of them have had a long and fruitful association with cycling, and Audax UK in particular.

We await news of forthcoming formalities.

Sad news indeed.  I'm sure most of us have met/ridden with Damon at one time or another, and watched his fantastic cycling films.

Thoughts and best wishes for Heather.

Met him a couple of times and when I had my heart condition watched every one of his films I could find. Inspired me to get back.

Damn, that's bad news. I have very fond memories of Damon, sometimes assisting him in transalations for his interviews with riders. A great loss for all of us. An even greater loss for Heather.

Sad news, I'm sorry to hear this.
I only met him once, when he was  a marshal / tk at the 24, but always enjoyed his films.

oh dear, that's very sad news. met him before my first audax while waiting in a queue for lel'09 registration and many times since, usually with a camera in hand. always valued and appreciated his broad insights from a different angle. sigh.

condolences to the family.

I just heard this terrible news via a phone call from a third party.

Condolences to Heather.

I will remember Damon as the most kind and unassuming person, and of course a highly accomplished cyclist.

RIP big fella.

Awful news.  I'd already been missing him on here - I don't think he'd posted for a long time.

Edit: I knew I'd met him and was trying to remember where.  Alston control, 2009, I think.

I never met him, but sparred with him regularly on POBI. Like RZ, I'd missed his presence.

Very sad news - condolences to all concerned.

Very sad news.  Our condolences to Heather and family.  We always enjoyed his videos and it was a pleasure to see him when he turned up in random remote places on his quest for footage.  A lovely man who will be sadly missed.

Shocked to hear this, like many I will miss his camera-wielding presence and his thoughtful filming. My thoughts are with his friends and family at what will be a very difficult time.
