The insistence on six-monthly checkups also clogs the system.  Unless your teeth are terrible, annual is fine.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

Our dentist has moved us onto annual check-ups as we're allegedly low risk patients. He claims it's Scottish gubbinsment requirement.

Most adults do only need an annual check up (unless they have particular long term conditions).  It's children who need them more frequently.

The guidance changed in 2004.   https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/cg19/chapter/Recommendations  It meant dentists could agree with the patient a variance from 6/12 examinations as appropriate, and it was supposed to depend on need.

Any changes to the recommendations inevitably have unintended consequences. A practitioner local to me put everyone on annual exams regardless of how much decay they customarily devoloped and this lead to cavities being detected much later than they otherwise might have been. Another continued to recommend 3/12 checks with the hygienist, regardless of the health of their gums, leading to even greater profits.

Me, I judged it just right, of course ;D

Sunak, for making an anti-Trans joke and then saying that it's "sad and wrong" that Starmer would object
* to an anti trans joke
* when Brianna Ghey's mom is in the HoC

Because, obviously it's Labour's fault.

He’s not half the super twat as some of the responders to his post are. I sometimes amazes me that some people actually know how to breath.

Now I don't feel so bad for Ray giving up several hours to an interviewer, and the interviewer deciding to start the piece with this...

She really said that? FFS

I used to have some respect for Kay, have lost it all now.

She might as well have said "See, the Tories have a brown person as a leader, therefore they can't be racist".

Christopher 'Upskirting' Chope

The government is pulling a vote on banning MPs accused of violent and sexual offences from Parliament.  It was due on Monday but Tory backbenchers including Christopher Chope and Philip Davies are threatening it.

That's the same Christopher Chope who had repeatedly used Parliamentary processes to block action that would protect women.   And he sits in one of the safest seats in the country.
