What does an old fluorescent tube cost to run?

I thought someone here might be able to quickly answer - I've trawled around the internet and can tell you about lots of other light fittings!

This is a bog standout old school tube light fitting with ballast and start etc. Roughly what would it cost per hour (or other time length)

I don't know the answer - but do recall that many, many years ago when I had a factory I was told that the longer tube fittings used less juice "per foot" than shorter ones - IIRC we had some 8 footers.  That may be horse-shit but I can see the sort of logic.

Around 50W so 1/20 kWh/h, so between ½&1p per hour.

The 1500mm 4000lm one I replaced at the weekend was stamped 58W.  My Smartmeter readout thing changed by around 75W when I switched it off.

A good rule of thumb is 1W on 24/7 for a year costs £1.
