I take your point, and there are some incredible older athletes around, but banging elbows is a bit different to the hour.
Never say never, while the body deteriorates with age, you have more time to look after yourself and do remedial work once you can retire from work. There are many things you can do to slow down the process... like giving up drinking, stay fit and slim and so on.
But ultimately, it is a mind over matter, many people seem to pack up once kids go to Uni, which typically happens in the mid 40s to early 50s... it doesn't have to be like that. They start looking at cruises and retirement apartments...
