[LEL17] LEL Film
« on: 05 August, 2017, 10:10:24 am »
My cycling pal and I DNF'd just short of Barnard Castle on the way back as we'd slipped too far behind and we realised we weren't going to make it in the time available given our condition at the time. We were both relatively inexperienced and it was mainly a few bad decisions over the first day or two that prevented us from finishing.

We had great fun getting that far though and made a short film of our ride to jog our memories in years to come. I wondered whether it might jog the memories of others too, so you would be very welcome to watch it using the link below.

Thanks to all of the other riders and the amazing volunteers that made this such an unforgettable experience.

Great film, really puts across the feeling - minus the wind, though I saw leaves whirling about at one point.

Thanks for posting it.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Andrew - What a great record of your ride.

My lad had to drop out with a knee injury at Barnard Castle on the way up having persuaded me to volunteer at Spalding. If I'd known you were coming I'd have made sure I gave you a waveas you rode in : )

Yeah, that's nice.
Shame you had to DNF so there wasn't more of it! I'm sure you must feel the same!

I enjoyed that. Thank you. It bought back bits I'd forgotten and reiterated some others.
I'm sure we exchanged mumblings along the way. Sorry you DNF'd. It was tough out there.

@brakeless - Go Pro Hero5 Session (although there is some iPhone footage/shots mixed in) - couldn't recommend it more highly - tiny and relatively inexpensive

Here is my modest offering to the cannon, very much a sequel to 2009's tearjerker.

A great film and I have forwarded the link to my club mates who just can't understand these types of event, particularly as a 100 mile ride would be viewed as a significant undertaking.

I hope that you will both continue to partake in the joy of audax.

Thanks both. Marvellous. It has unlocked some memories from 09 and 13 for me.  Andrew - how can you say that the Cambridgeshire Fens were dull when there was such a beautiful sky/cloud-scape?
