What wouldn't you eat?
« on: 30 March, 2010, 02:26:19 pm »
I'll generally eat anything. I've done bollocks, dog and probably shit. But one thing I can't eat is mushy peas. The pea is a fine vegetable. Steam or boil them for a bit and you have a fine companion to a meal. But turn them into some sort of radio active, northern mush!? Forget it! I'd rather eat my own cock than eat mushy peas. They're revolting.

What food do you refuse to eat?
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

Things created from dead animals.
Capers
Cherries
Avocado
Pistachios

My list used to be much longer.  When I became a vegetarian, I didn't eat nuts, mushrooms, courgettes or tomatos.  I'm still wary of the last.

Mashed potato, or anything else mashed.

Whilst I've still got teeth what's the point?

Mushy peas were never something I liked eating.  Of course I haven't had them for many years because of my top dislike.

Pineapple.

Nothing "edible" should make your mouth bleed.

Meat, obviously.

Tonight, I nearly got some Durian.  But the stall selling it had run out.

To ask the obvious question, how are you on guacamole?

I draw the line at bread sauce.

When I became a vegetarian, I didn't eat nuts, mushrooms, courgettes or tomatos.  I'm still wary of the last.

Am I the only person struggling with this....

trying to think of something I wont eat..   Nope...   Pretty much anything.   Not a huge fan of suet dumplings (3 is my limit) but that's about it.

Nah.  I struggled with it for years.  Now I love mushrooms and cashews, and can tolerate most sorts of nuts & seeds.  I eat courgette, but I don't like it limp & watery.

I'm sure there are nasty things in foreign parts that I wouldn't touch with a bargepole, but I'd guess I'd eat pretty much anything available here.

Not a huge fan of the overly sweet manufactured cakes and stuff, but if offered then I'll munch.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

Rice pudding.
Banana on its own makes me nauseous (in flapjack or with ice cream or butterscotch whip is all good though).
Apricot is really quite unpleasant, even as jam hidden in pastries.
Mushy peas I'd probably leave.

...  or tomatos.  I'm still wary of the last.

I'm wary of tomatos too.   It's like mealtime rusian roulette.  Some are ok, but others explode in your mouth with a foul taste.  there's no way of knowing beforehand.

 It's like eating the rotting corpse of a dog stuffed with garlic custard over an open sewer.

Me - meat, and even if I stopped being veggie, I wouldn't eat liver, kidney or anything from MacDonalds. Mushy peas. Cheesecake.  Parsnip. Broad beans.

I'm not that keen on Aubergine. I'll eat it, but it tastes pretty rank. It's about the only thing I'll avoid.

I suppose the reverse of this post would be the point at which you you threw up your arms as a host and said 'feed yourself then'. If someone told me they couldn't eat tomatoes, onions or pulses beyond the usual vegetarian/vegan/wheat intolerance, they'd be very much on their own.
