I don't think we've done this. You can't have Layla, because it's just a two-part blues song and too long for an outro.

Oh Jean by the Proclaimers is an assault on the listener's ears and on the vocal chords of the Reid twins, but boy, is it raw, powerful and emotional.

I don't think we've done this.

I think we did.
But probably in a previous place.

I think I nominated 'Crime of the Century'.
I retract that nomination as I have just listened and it's mostly tedious.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

The Kundalini Yoga community liked the outro of Mike Heron's "Cellular Song" so much they used it in their ceremonies for decades, not realising it was a contemporary song.  They thought it was a traditional blessing and therefore free to adopt - until they got a letter from the publishers.

I'd go for Crime of the Century (sorry), Join With Us by The Feeling, which is not what you'd expect from a camp pop band, or Let's Go Crazy by Prince.

The short guitar break that closes Half Man Half Biscuit's “We Built This Village On A Trad. Arr. Tune” always make me smile.

Ahhh the dear Bonzos 🤗

And of course an Outro benefits from a half decent Intro?

Man Out of Time - Elvis Costello. Also good for the lack of intro.

Stay by Jackson Brown has this excellent lap steel outro by David Lindley.

Is The Chain too long for an outro?
Must admit, I immediately thought of the Bonzos.

Didn't realise until yesterday that (since 3 March) Mr Lindley is no longer with us - RIP, Prince of Polyester  :'(

Not sure if Oldfield's "Big brown horsie, big brown face, I'd rather be with you than flying through space," strictly counts as an outro to Ommadawn, but it should.
