Replacement campagnolo sprockets
« on: 25 March, 2013, 10:04:47 am »
I've left it too long before changing my chain and have developed a skip on one sprocket. Does anyone know where I can buy a 17A 10 speed Campagnolo replacement?

As far as I know they aren't available separately. I'd suggest finding someone with a worn cassette where they haven't used the 17 much - but it is one of the likely favourite sprockets, and therefore one of the most worn.

The 17 is likely to be only a single sprocket on the less pricey versions - Record and Chourus tend to have pairs of sprockets higher up the numbers.

I've always just put on a complete new cassette, on the basis that if one sprocket jumps the rest of the middling placed ones won't be that far behind

There's a Campagnolo Pro Shop not far from me, I once got a spare part from their spares drawer for next to nothing after Mercian told me they couldn't get me one (it was nothing obscure). Worth asking a couple of good bike shops maybe, but the days when a good shop had a big board of loose sprockets is long gone!
