Brake cable compatibility
« on: 23 May, 2013, 11:41:51 am »
I've got some Deore LX levers. I went to fit the brake cables and found only 1 MTB (barrel end) type in my box (thought I had a pair), but a few road (pear end) cables. Therefore, I used one of each. The levers don't have a shaped pocket into which the cable end slots so don't seem to mind having a "road" cable fitted therefore it seems to work fine. Is there any need to swap the cable out for a proper barrel end one?

If it passes the pulling bastard hard on the levers test without breaking anything, I don't see why not...
