I'd never head of
themher (http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Bat_for_Lashes_plays_the_Bowery_Ballroom:_an_Interview_with_Natasha_Khan) prior to seeing a performance (with the band "The Blue Dreams") whilst she supported Radiohead.
I thought they were worth a mention here. Can definately hear influences from Bjork and Kate Bush.

This video was mentioned here (or before) for obvious reasons:-
YouTube - Bat For Lashes - Whats a Girl To Do (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1wnOUH2jk8)
Anyone work out which road it is? :)

couldn't stop watching that!
...my life revolves around cycling, I can't help it! Bikes seem to be connected with everything these days!

She's really friendly. A bit barmy, but inspired.
and really good looking, but that has nothing to do with it...
-
Cool! I've a feeling I'm going to be hallucinating BMX-riding furries on my next 600 though.
-
Got to watch it again now...
-
She's on MySpace (of course), if anyone's interested...

Doubt it. With roadsigns (including an A road number which you can't make out on the rubbish youtube quality version), yellow hatched boxes and traffic lights (albeit turned off)?
Also trees too close to the road for Millbrook.

There's some information about how they shot the video on the paperthinwalls (http://paperthinwalls.com/featuredarticle/index?id=99) site, but nothing about where it was shot.
I'm glad I wasn't going nuts thinking it was a bit Donnie Darko, since that was deliberate.
It's kind of amusing the number of times you see someone saying how much they like to see a video that was filmed in one shot, when (i) It clearly wasn't, since a junction appears in the background after the panning bit in the middle with the characters at the side of the road and (ii) given that the "animals" disappear from behind her, some sort of trickery was involved in the shooting which suggests that multiple shots or overlayed footage was used.

Just checked Google Earth, yeah your right, not Milbrook but I doubt it's public roads, there are quite a few proving grounds around the UK, I found that paperthinwalls article as well :)

Dammit I'm good ;)
Crowthorne in Berkshire (just next to broadmoor hospital)

Top work!
I'll be able to sleep soundly tonight.

Well done that man.
It looks like it was filmed on this bit in the middle (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=RG40+3GA&ie=UTF8&ll=51.383078,-0.777197&spn=0.002176,0.006781&t=k&z=18), probably the first bit down the right hand side curve, broadly going from North to South, and then the second half filmed from the East to the West stopping around about the Roundabout.
