Your blog inspired me more than anything else, for your whole trip away Deano.  Not just the snowy bits.  I actually miss it!

+1

I think I've told you there was a particular photo of a large flat expanse of straight road heading towards the mountains which I found particularly compelling.  I would still love to do some of the journey you did.

A few years back....trying to get over the Newbury Downs.

Some of the descents are a bit technical in summer so it all got a bit heart-in-mouth at times.

Metters? I think you can apply my quote more than adequately to your pics!

"What a bloody stupid idea, I've got miles to get back home."
Certainly never seen cycling south of Sussex

Here's one I took a couple of weeks ago while out on a short ride. This photo is over-looking the Gare Loch, one of the Clyde sea Lochs.

It's not obvious from that piccie but the trike's wearing studded snow tires on the back - absolutely the hardest, slowest, cycling I've ever done!

From a couple of weeks ago, the only bike I have without mudguards, not quite what I got it for but it was a lot of fun.

Early last Thursday afternoon near the Ciderhouse on route from Newtown to Presteigne. Beautifully eerie - with marsh warblers warbling "allez, allez" as I got on to the moor on top.

Evening track training - following the refurbishment last year we now have stonking great floodlights at the velodrome (even if one of the bulbs has gone out)

A little ride out for some groceries in Helensburgh this afternoon, via the scenic route. I was rather slower than the usual 40mph+ coming down of that hill today. And once off the hill flood water replaced snow and slush.
Brilliant ride though, really cheered me up after a long night at work.

My new winter bike on a jaunt up Pen y Pass and a semi-frozen Llyn Ogwen about 3 weeks ago:

These photos look so much better from a warm June evening!
My ride home from work, at the start of December 2010's long freeze.
I'd actually just got there, helped to dig several cars into the car park, and we all got sent home again.
No studded tyres though the rear had some tread. Occasional sideways progress.

By way of reviving a dormant thread here's a photo from yesterday's Northumbrian outing.

No snow, but a freezing cold, deserted, murky and mingey ride to nowhere, on Olive.
