How long should you leave between a 600 and LEL?
« on: 24 May, 2009, 06:58:51 pm »
I am thinking of doing the Marches and Mersey Roads on the 27th of June after DNSing the BCM.

Is a 600 wise from 3 weeks before LEL or just doing 300s and 400s good enough?

Will I have enough time to recover?

Thanks

3 weeks should be fine.

Only you know the answer to that. Recovery is part of the game. One way to find out ...

I did my best distance in a '24', ten days after a 600, most authorities reckon that to be about the optimum, they also tend to advise a bit of speed work between the events. I did a 25 mile TT two days before the '24' but at a max heart rate of 155bpm, 10 bpm below my usual max.
