Wednesday 28th April
Totham Swan - 8pm

Table 1

1. Dirk
2. BNB Brewer
3. Faded old hippy (according to O.D.)?
4. BFC
5.
6.

If that fills, the next person just needs to call them and book a further table.

I suppose it is possible we could have the wild westerners forming a splinter group.

Hello all. Well, the bike is in for repair tomorrow but its only a bottom bracket bearing and its in at 10.00, so I am assuming it'll be ready. If anything changes then I'll let you know, especially if table 2 gets full up.

Ta,
Nick.

Sorry, just back from the bike shop and, even after booking it in weeks ago: "It should be ready for you at the weekend, hopefully." THE WEEKEND? HOPEFULLY?

A massive part of the reason why I invested in the tools, built up bikes from scratch and watched hours of you tube to be able to do it myself....I had a couple of those and it annoyed me so much, more so when the repairs were sometimes of questionable quality!

Yeah, I know what you mean and I usually do all my maintenance myself, so long as its not wheel-related magic.

The tooling for replacing the BB bearing was knocking on £100, or I could have made them myself but the LBS only want £20 labour, so I though I'd let them do it. "Can't book it in for a few weeks", they said but so long as I have it done for Hereward, that'd be okay, I thought. Quite surprised it won't be in and out in a day but I'll know for next time and this is the first time I've used LBS to do my repairs since I bought the bike from them back in 2016ish.

Anyway, have a good one tonight!

Ah, that makes a lot of sense, I nearly said apart from the proprietary stuff where it costs so much to set yourself up. I had a guy asking me what he needed to sort his Campag chain with the pin that came with it...I suggested he look at a Quick Link!

Thought I'd propose this route for the Witham Peloton, should enable an 8pm arrival if leaving the launchpad at 7pm.

Most of us here work on our own bikes Nick, we'd always help you out or lend you tools. BFC is a font of knowledge and help, he has a workshop full of tools and he's a bloody good bloke.

It's always best to learn how to do stuff yourself because it'll be worn out or broken again at some point and you'll be in the same situation again.

I've ignored my own advice and broken hub, so just going to look at it now

Apologies but due to a very serious case of CBA I'm not out. Would be grateful if someone could ensure Carlos the Cone Killer makes it home this time.
Have fun all.
