« on: 21 October, 2008, 08:40:24 pm »
Hi
Advice as I have not done this for a long ,long time. How do I remove cranks to get to my bottom bracket that has worked loose. :(
Chainset is a stronglight z light isis.

I am hoping that the bb is just slightly loose but if it will not tighten has anyone got ideas how to fix/secure it?
thanks

You need a crank extractor tool to get the cranks off.

LifeLine Shimano Crank Removal Tool Only £5.99

The BB will be a sealed unit and if tightening-up doesn't work, you'll need a new one.

One of these tools will get the BB out, but watch that the thread on the RHS of the bike is opposite to normal.

Shimano Bottom Bracket Removal Tool Only £8.99

Good luck!
