Do you stillneed to proff modern tentd

Our tent got a proper soaking last weekend ,in times gone bye you had toproof tents under these circumstances ,but is this stilll so with modern fabrics.

I did the seams last year because they aren't taped.  I'm not convinced a synthetic tent needs all-over proofing except maybe as part of a mid-life spruce up.  Mine stayed perfectly dry in heavy rain about a month ago, anyway.

I wouldn't waterproof a tent, unless it was a really old one that I had been given. Most tents will never need one.

Depends where you are taking your tent. Close to home, or in the UK where you have a good idea where to get things if you need them then leave it.
If you are abroad where its a bit more of an effort to find things, for the sake of a few pounds and putting the tent up in the garden I think its worth it for piece of mind alone  :)
